Carer Friendly Conference 2025
Our Carer Friendly Conference will be held on Tuesday 10th June in two sessions, the morning session for professionals and our afternoon session for carers.
The conference will be held at the Westbank Healthy Living Centre in Exminster and you must pre-book to attend as spaces are limited.
Morning Session for Professionals
9am – 12.30pm
You are invited to join us at our Carer Friendly Conference morning session for professionals where you can discover how your organisation can become more Carer Friendly. You will have the chance to chat with us directly at a range of information stands as well as having the opportunity to meet with other organisations as well.
The information stands will be available for drop-in throughout the entire session (9am to 12.30pm) and we also have a range of free bookable workshops to choose from below.
Pre-booking is essential to attend the conference and to take part in the workshops as spaces are limited.

9.45am – 10.30am | Q&A with carers – your chance to hear first-hand the challenges faced by carers today plus an opportunity to ask questions. |
10am – 11am | Carers Skills Workshops – how do our workshops support the carers you work with? Our team will talk through the benefits and answer any questions you have. |
10.45am – 11.30am | Young Carers Toolkit – find out how the new toolkit will benefit healthcare professionals, schools and Young Carers themselves. |
11.15am – 12.15pm | Carer Friendly Employers – With 1 in 7 of the workforce an unpaid carer, our session will highlight how we can help you to support your staff who have a caring role. |
11.45am – 12.30pm | Developing your Carer Friendly practice – we will be joined by colleagues from other organisations to tell you about their experience of being carer friendly and how you can get involved too. |
10am – 12pm Drop-in session | Community Cookery School – Drop-in to check out our Community Cookery School |
Afternoon Session for Carers
1pm – 4pm
Come along and wander around our information stands and chat directly with us about how we and other local organisations can support you in your caring role. Whether you have been caring for someone for a long time or you might just be curious about what support is available to you as you start your caring journey, you can chat with us to find out more.
You can join in a Peer Support group, learn about our Carers Skills Workshops, discover the benefits of a Carers Assessments to name a few. Or perhaps you would like to learn more about writing your own emergency plan, a simple document to help should you find yourself in a position where you are unable to care. There really is something for everyone!
The information stands will be available for drop-in throughout the entire session (1pm – 4pm) and you can also sign up for our mini wellbeing activities below.

1.45pm – 2.15pm | Mindfulness techniques – join us for a relaxing session including a guided sensory meditation with Emma Capper, nature and forest therapy guide. |
2.30pm – 3pm | Breathworks – relax and learn how to feel the benefits of breathing exercises. A session exploring and experiencing how we breathe effects our wellbeing with Emma Capper, nature and forest therapy guide. |
3.15pm – 4pm | Journaling – discover how writing your thoughts can give you a break and help you to improve your mental wellbeing, with tips from Matt Young ‘The Journaling Guy’. |

2pm – 4pm Drop-in session | Open Peer Support group – You are warmly invited to our open Peer Support Group running all afternoon – drop in, meet the team and see how Peer Support can benefit you. |
