Help To Access Your COVID Vaccination

We understand how challenging it can be as a carer to get your vaccine.  Maybe you cannot find the time to leave those you look after, or possibly you are unable to afford transport costs to travel to a vaccination centre.

We can help.

We also understand how important it is for you to have your vaccine.  By having the vaccine you are not only protecting yourself, but the person you care for.  Both COVID-19 and flu can potentially increase the risk of serious illness to you and those you look after, so it is advisable to get protection from them as early as possible. Vaccines offer the best protection against these viruses.

We can help.

If there is something preventing you from getting your COVID vaccine, please get in touch today – a member of our team will discuss your situation with you.

Covid-19 and flu vaccinations for carers with learning disabilities

Carers with a learning disability and those who support them, are being reminded that it’s not too late to have their free flu and additional Covid-19 booster. Preventing Covid-19 and flu is particularly important for people with learning disabilities as they are more vulnerable to both viruses.

NHS Devon and Devon County Council have launched new films highlighting the importance of having both vaccinations and annual health checks.

This video features Kylie who has a learning disability and is a carer for her mum and can be viewed here.

This easy read leaflet explains the Flu vaccination and this guide, produced by the Learning Disability charity Mencap, explains the Covid-19 booster and how to access it.
