I have always enjoyed gardening. I lived on a farm from the age of 15 to 34 so I enjoying working on the arable side of farming. I have a large garden which over the last 18 years my husband and I have divided it in to areas. We have a few apple, cherry and gage trees as well as an area for chickens. The wild area has a pond with frogs. Slow worms breed in our bank.
I find as a carer it is relaxing to get out in the garden and greenhouse planting and potting up seeds and cuttings. It is lovely planning the year ahead during the winter months with gardeners world magazines and plant catalogues. Our family treat is a trip to one of the garden centres to browse and bring a few plants home. I confess I am a plantaholic!
This year the blossom on the fruit trees has been beautiful and the roses are lovely.
