Carers Week
Carers Week is taking place across the UK from Monday 5th to Sunday 11th June 2023.
Carers Week (5th – 11th June) is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t see themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
This year’s theme is ‘Recognising and supporting carers in the community.’ We are asking everyone to help us raise awareness of carers and to thank them for the invaluable role they carry out.
We are pleased to announce that we will be joined by several organisations and our Carer Friendly Devon supporters this year and we will also be running our ever-popular Mile With A Smile campaign again.
We are busy organising events and information stands across Devon for this year’s Carers Week, watch this space and our social media for up-to-date information!

| A Mile With A Smile: walk, roll or stroll a mile to collectively achieve the total of 350 miles, which represents the perimeter of Devon. Mile With A Smile
Our ‘A Mile with a Smile’ walk will return, with everyone contributing steps to cover the 350 mile perimeter of Devon. From the comfort of an armchair, to the back garden, to the top of Haytor, join us in raising awareness of carers.
If you have friends, family members or work colleagues who wish to form a team, the more the merrier and all with a smile!
