Strengthening support for carers with disabilities

We want to ensure that all carers can benefit from the support we offer. To that end we have identified some groups of carers who we know we have to work harder to reach.

For example we know that carers with disabilities – and those who are deaf or visually impaired – experience additional barriers accessing services.

As we continue to develop and improve our service we will be working with carers with disabilities and organisations – including Living Options Devon www.livingoptions.org.

We will carry out the following:

• Training for our staff and volunteers
• Community based outreach work and publicity
• Carers support groups and other activities/events
